Nowadays, it is indispensable to utilize information technology not only for environmental education but also in many other areas. Some elementary schools and junior high schools in Miyagi Prefecture are planning to develop inter-school networking and in the recent future, it would be possible to hold interactive environmental education programs with student participation, using such facilities. The center provides fundamental information of environmental education for the public and is preparing to become an access center for the local community. Because it would be effective to encourage inter-cultural education, we can use the WWW (World Wide Web) to support and implement environmental education.
ĦĦThe ever-progressing information technology will bring significant changes to the school system. We are establishing training courses for the sake of the implementation of environmental education, utilizing computer applications.
