Aiming at halting for the progression of the destruction of nature
Introducing the power of environmental education to our school system which already has quite a few problems
To consider the destruction of the earth, aiming at establishing new values for the 21st century
What kind of nature has valuable power to educate people?

What kind of nature has valuable power to educate people? We cannot deny that a plant, tulip or a swimming killifish is part of nature and that would be what we become interested in. However, it needs power to create impressions. It should be the nature with valuable power to educate us so that it can answer any kind of students' question.

Investigation of the Habits of Living-things for Discovery of Nature's Power to Educate

In order to create a valuable program for environmental education for students, it is essential for us to investigate continuously and radically the habits of living things. In eastern part of Oshika Peninsula, there is a mountain called Kinkazan island that has a primeval forest, consisting of beech, fir and zelcova trees. The forest is one of the best fields for research in Japan because it has a lot of wildlife such as monkeys, deer, and birds. In addition, it has been studied continuously for more than ten years. We are going to continue to research in it and discover the power of nature from the results of researchers.

Relationship with the School System and Life-long Education

We also need the implementation of fieldwork to testify its effect to students. Hence we regard the nature of Mt.Kinkazan island as a classroom and explore the concrete roles that the school system and life-long education can play. It will enable us not only to cover the traditional school system but also to introduce new ways of education.

Point of View from New Perspectives

For the sake of utilizing the power of nature in the school system and life-long education, we should preserve a variety of natures, such as Mt. Kinkazan in each local community. With this respect, SNC plan will change the traditional way in which we take facilities such as museum alone seriously to the way in which we try to utilize all our surrounding nature. We would like to create a peaceful place where the dying nature of Japan and students with emotional problem can be comforted.
