The section "Fundamental Research of Environmental Education" of EEC aims at developing teaching materials for environmental education in school. The teachi ng materials are developed on the strength of life and material science data.

The primary purpose of the field research of environmental education is to de velop the proper realization of contemporary environmental issues on a global le vel through the direct involvements with neighboring nature and community. For this aim, we should attempt to develop environmental teaching materials on the b asis of the results of our direct interdisciplinary research on and learning fro m surrounding nature and the community. As a result of field research of enviro nmental education, we have established several "study fields" where people in th is area can directly learn about nature under the guidance of staff members of t he center. Among them is the "super naturing center (SNC)" which now deals with deciduous broad-leaved forest Kinkazan Island, Oshika Town and tropical forests in Colombia, South America.
